2009年9月9日9點9分，世界第一座李陽瘋狂英語“監(jiān)獄”和中國最大的國際語言村正式開學了。
這一天標志著李陽瘋狂英語的一次重大歷史性轉折！
從這一天起，我也正式宣布退休。
從1988年蘭州大學的第一場演講，到2009年9月9日，我已經(jīng)在中國英語普及的戰(zhàn)場上戰(zhàn)斗了20年。中國有三代英語學習者深受瘋狂英語的影響。在全世界的每一個角落，絕大多數(shù)講一口流利英語的人都受到過瘋狂英語的影響和洗禮。
今年我四十歲，俗話說“四十不惑”，到了這個年齡，我應該告別演講臺，把全部的精力都投入到培養(yǎng)接班人這件更加重要的事業(yè)上。

集中全部的精力，
完成手邊的任務。
太陽光只有在聚焦的時候才會燃燒。
我的國際退休宣言：
Ladies and gentlemen, my dear friends and devoted students
all over China:
Today I am officially proclaiming my retirement!
女士們，先生們，我親愛的朋友和學生們，
今天，我正式宣布退休！
Effective as of September 9, 2009,
I will be located full time at my base.
自2009年9月9日起，我將在總部基地繼續(xù)工作。
After careful consideration, I finally made a bold decision.
經(jīng)過詳細的思考，我做出了一個勇敢的決定。
Now I will start looking for people with the passion and vision
to carry my dream forward and continue my crazy mission.
我正在尋找有激情和夢想的人把我的瘋狂事業(yè)進行下去。
It is time for me to entrust my dream of teaching 300 million Chinese to speak fluent English to the next generation of Crazy English talent.
現(xiàn)在到了把“讓三億中國人講一口流利英語”的使命
傳給下一代瘋狂英語戰(zhàn)士的時候了。
My next step is to focus all my energy on training my successors
and elite teaching team.
我下一步的計劃是全力以赴培養(yǎng)我的接班人和精英教學隊伍。
At the same time, I will be receiving students, friends and experts from all over the world
at my peaceful training headquarters.
同時，我將會在寧靜的總部基地接待來自全世界
的學生、朋友和專家。
This is also the ideal time for me to improve myself
and refine my teaching.
A really excellent teacher needs to spend time learning.
這也是我改進自我、提高教學水平的最佳時間。
一個真正優(yōu)秀的老師需要花時間學習。
I deeply encourage and warmly welcome all of you
who are interested to come and visit me there.

After 20 years,
I still have not fully realized my dream.
20年后，我仍然沒有實現(xiàn)我的夢想。
Chinese young people are still
perplexed, troubled, and tortured by exams.
中國的年輕人仍然為考試所困擾和折磨。
Too many Chinese people of all ages are still hesitant to use the English that they have spent years studying.
成千上萬人仍然苦學數(shù)年無法使用英語。
I believe the time has come for me
to heed the thousands of Crazy English learners
who have commented about my gray hair
and urged me to look after my health and my body.
我相信退休的時候到了。
在過去的歲月中，
成千上萬的瘋狂英語愛好者不斷地督促我照顧好自己的健康。
我應該聽從他們的建議。
Man's life is limited, but I believe with your help,
the legacy of Crazy English can be eternal.
人的生命是有限的，但在你們的幫助下，瘋狂英語的傳奇是不朽的。
It is time for me to hand the torch to someone else!
現(xiàn)在是把火炬?zhèn)鹘o別人的時候了。
I'm eagerly awaiting this new chapter of my life.

What I definitely have learned during the last twenty years of traveling to every corner of China and to countries all over the world is that Chinese students are absolutely the most hardworking and passionate students anywhere!
我20年的全球演講生涯讓我確信：

It is time for me to rely on your hard work and passion!
我要依賴你們的付出和激情了。
I know you won't let me down!

Keep on practicing, keep on hoping, keep on yelling, keep on being crazy.
You've been the center of my life for 20 years.
