In China is the Spring Festival and in the West ,It's Christmas.Let's start with Christmas. Christmas is a joyful religious holiday when Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.To people, Christmas is a season of giving and receiving presents which falls on Dec.25th. In west countries, Saint Claus comes into houses in the night and leaves gifts for the children. Each child hung a stocking over the fireplace. Santa entered down from the chimney and left presents inside the socks for the good children. Another important custom of Christmas is the Christmas tree. It is brought into the home and decorated with Christmas lights or candles, ornaments, and candy canes during the days around Christmas. An angel or star may be placed at the top of the tree.Then what about the new year of our Chinese? Our new year is also called the Spring Festival. Families decorate their front doors with Spring Festival couplets. Also it is common to hang a calligraphic writing for “spring” “wealth” and blessing in home . In the past, we will set off firecrackers and fireworks, which hope that the old will be removed and the new will be welcomed. On New Year's Eve, the whole family will have a reunion dinner together. Then watch the Spring Festival Gala Evening together. A series of colorful activities begin on the first day of the lunar month.. People will extend greetings for each other. And children will receive gifts of money in red envelopes from their parents grandparents and relatives.This year is the Year of the Pig. So at the end wish you 豬年吉祥！
