1過去進(jìn)行時的構(gòu)成及用法。
過去進(jìn)行時由“助動詞was/were＋v.ing”構(gòu)成，表示在過去某一時刻或某一時間段正在進(jìn)行的動作。這一特定的過去時間除有上下文暗示以外，一般用時間狀語表示，如：then，at that time，at this time yesterday，at 8∶00 yesterday morning，all night以及when/while從句等。
如：I was reading a book in the library atthat time. 那時我正在圖書館里看書。
They were having an English class at 9∶00 yesterday. 昨天9點(diǎn)他們在上英語課。
He was reading a story when the teacher came in. 老師進(jìn)來的時候，他正在看故事。
2 .When/while兩者的區(qū)別如下：
when 既指時間點(diǎn)，也可指一段時間； while只指一段時間，因此when引導(dǎo)的時間狀語從句中的動詞可以是非延續(xù)性動詞，也可以是延續(xù)性動詞，而while從句中的動詞必須是__________動詞, 并且多用進(jìn)行時。
when 說明從句的動作和主句的動作可以是同時，也可以是先后發(fā)生；while 則強(qiáng)調(diào)主句的動作在從句動作的發(fā)生的過程中或主從句兩個動作同時發(fā)生。
由when引導(dǎo)的時間狀語從句，主句用過去進(jìn)行時，從句應(yīng)用一般過去時；如果從句和主句的動作同時發(fā)生，兩句都用過去進(jìn)行時的時候，多用while引導(dǎo)，
如： a. ________ the teachercame in, we were talking. 當(dāng)此句改變主從句的位置時，則為： W_______ we weretalking, the teacher came in.
